		<description>Hi Nigel,

I think that the only issue you may get is that if you update the BMC by installing a patch or update it in any way. RE checks the deployment directory each time it starts to see if it needs to update itself. If any changes have been made then the workstation will be updated and your registry settings changed. You can always change the deployment location in the registry so that it no longer points to the deployment directory. This is the installsource key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Blackbaud\Raisers Edge\7.0. (Please read my disclaimers above about editing registry)

Other than that I can&#039;t think of any issues.

		<description>HI David,

We have opted to setup 1 live production database and 2 non-production databases for development and QA. We did have to argue a bit with Blackbaud, as initially the NP licenses were free but the policy has changed mid stream.

Nonetheless, this worked fine from a single client version of RE accessing a one central DB server with all three. However, our site has opted now to have two servers, one for production and one for development/QA.

Based on your article, I have configured the ODBC registry settings to point the “live” (RE7_1) to our production server and left the remaining two pointing to our development server and things seem to work just fine.

Are you aware of any complications or problems that may result from setting up the configuration in this manner ?

Thx
